Thermo Fisher to Boost India's Biopharma Manufacturing with New Genome Valley Facilities

Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced major investments to strengthen India’s biopharma infrastructure, unveiling plans to establish two state-of-the-art facilities in Hyderabad’s Genome Valley by the end of 2025. The announcement was made during the Biopharma Conclave 2025, where company leaders engaged with government, industry, and academia.

The new Bioprocess Design Center (BDC), developed in collaboration with the Telangana Government, will accelerate the development of advanced therapies by providing expertise in bioprocessing and scale-up solutions. Alongside it, the Customer Experience Center (CEC) will showcase next-generation instrumentation and workflows across molecular biology, proteomics, diagnostics, and cell and gene therapy, while also supporting workforce upskilling.

India’s biopharmaceutical sector, valued at $8.1 billion in 2024, is projected to nearly double to $15.9 billion by 2030, driven by rising market maturity, global regulatory opportunities, and high unmet clinical needs.

“India is one of our fastest-growing markets, and we are committed to enabling its biopharma industry to scale globally. Our integrated solutions will help customers innovate faster, enhance productivity, and meet the highest quality standards,” said Tony Acciarito, president, Asia Pacific & Middle East, Africa, Thermo Fisher Scientific.

The facilities aim to bridge technology and expertise gaps, enabling both start-ups and established companies to accelerate time-to-market while meeting international quality benchmarks.
