Tjoapack, a global contract packaging organization serving the pharmaceutical industry, has expanded its oral solid dose (OSD) bottle packaging capabilities at its Etten-Leur facility in the Netherlands with the installation of a second production line. The new addition, a state-of-the-art Cremer Uhlmann IBC 50 line, significantly enhances automation, flexibility, and GMP-compliant capacity.

The IBC 50 line automates bottle packaging and can handle any bottle shape, with a throughput of up to 50 bottles per minute. Designed to meet stringent GMP requirements, the line offers high configurational flexibility, enabling bottles to be packed into cartons with leaflets, combined with booklets using a top-serter, or wrapped in plastic via a shrink tunnel.

With this investment, Tjoapack expands its ability to support a wider range of bottle formats and packaging presentations, addressing growing pharmaceutical demand for flexible, efficient, and compliant packaging solutions. The expansion aligns with rising global demand for oral solid dose medicines and increased expectations for adaptable packaging operations.

The Etten-Leur expansion is part of Tjoapack’s broader global investment strategy, which includes recent enhancements to cold-chain and injectable packaging capabilities in both Europe and the United States.
