Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, laid the foundation stone for 2 Critical Care Blocks and a BSL-3 Laboratory in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
Additionally, he inaugurated 7 Integrated Public Health Laboratories across various districts of the state. The event was attended by Vidadala Rajini, Minister of Health, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
The new facilities are poised to enhance Andhra Pradesh's healthcare infrastructure, providing a substantial response to health emergencies.
Dr. Mandaviya expressed his excitement, highlighting the pivotal role these facilities will play in delivering quality medical services to the people. He emphasized the government's commitment to providing quality healthcare infrastructure, stating, "only a healthy country can aspire to become a developed country."
The Union Health Minister noted that the new facilities will improve access to medical services and reiterated the government's holistic approach to health, including the expansion of healthcare infrastructure and the establishment of medical and nursing colleges. He emphasized the collaborative efforts between the Centre and states to meet the healthcare needs of the country.
Vidadala Rajini acknowledged the support and guidance received from the Centre, stating that the new facilities under PM-ABHIM (Prime Minister Atmanirbhar Swasthya Bharat Yojana) will strengthen healthcare facilities in the state.
She appreciated the substantial allocation of 1271 crores to Andhra Pradesh under PM-ABHIM, which will enhance the state's resilience in responding to health emergencies.
