US EoE Market Expected to Hit USD 1.19 Billion by 2030, Driven by Next-Gen Therapies

The US market for eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is projected to soar from USD 202 million in 2020 to USD 1.19 billion by 2030, reflecting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 19.4 percent, according to GlobalData. This substantial growth is being driven by a transition away from off-label treatments toward FDA-approved, patient-friendly therapies.

Key contributors include biologics such as Sanofi/Regeneron’s Dupixent (dupilumab), first approved for EoE in adults and adolescents in 2022 and later expanded to children aged one year and older in 2024. Additionally, Takeda’s Eohilia (budesonide oral suspension), the first FDA-approved oral steroid for EoE appearing on the market in 2024, is expected to capture significant market share. Ellodi Pharmaceuticals’ APT-1011, an orally disintegrating tablet currently in late-stage development, is anticipated to further enhance treatment options—especially for paediatric patients.

GlobalData analysts estimate that by 2030, Dupixent and Eohilia will collectively account for approximately 75 percent of the US EoE market, with APT-1011 contributing around 12.5 percent. The emergence of these therapies addresses long-standing gaps in treatment convenience, tolerability, and paediatric formulation—factors that previously limited patient adherence and outcomes.

Despite the robust growth outlook, there are challenges ahead, including payer restrictions, high list prices, and reliance on invasive diagnostic procedures like endoscopy. However, evolving diagnostic innovations could help ease patient burden. The market is now poised for transformation, offering biopharma companies a prime opportunity to meet underserved needs with novel, accessible treatments.
