Willow Biosciences and Enterin Join Forces for Sustainable Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Willow Biosciences Inc., a biotechnology company dedicated to revolutionizing industrial manufacturing with a focus on purity, consistency, and sustainability, has announced a groundbreaking collaboration with Enterin, Inc., a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company at the forefront of developing innovative treatments targeting neurodegenerative and metabolic disorders.

The collaboration aims to pioneer new sustainable manufacturing routes for key intermediates and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Enterin, recognizing the imperative for sustainable practices in manufacturing, is keen to reduce costs and waste in the production of its key development targets.

Seeking Willow's expertise in developing and scaling biobased processes, the initial program will assess the feasibility of a biobased pathway. If successful, the collaboration will progress towards implementing the developed methods at a commercial scale, with the development phase expected to span approximately three months.

Dr. Chris Savile, President & CEO of Willow, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "We are delighted to have been selected by a forward-thinking pharmaceutical company like Enterin to apply our AI-enabled technology platform to the development of sustainably sourced intermediates and APIs. If successful, we believe the developed biobased route will be more sustainable, and cost-effective, and ensure access to these potentially life-changing medicines in Enterin's development pipeline."

This collaboration marks the third development agreement for Willow, showcasing the growing demand from innovator and discovery-focused food or pharmaceutical companies seeking access to Willow's transformative BioOxiTM selective hydroxylation platform.

The agreement underscores the industry's recognition of Willow's capabilities in driving sustainable and innovative solutions in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
