Zuellig Pharma Acquires Rights to Cialis from Eli Lilly and Company in Hong Kong, Macau and South Korea

Zuellig Pharma has announced the acquisition of all rights, title and interest in the men’s health drug Cialis (tadalafil) from Eli Lilly and Company in Hong Kong, Macau and South Korea, further expanding its pharmaceutical portfolio in Asia.

Following the transaction, Zuellig Pharma will own the trademarks, marketing authorisations and licensed manufacturing know-how for Cialis across 11 markets in Asia. The acquisition expands the company’s ownership beyond the original eight markets where it already held rights to the brand.

Cialis is widely used for the treatment of Erectile Dysfunction (ED) and Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). Zuellig Pharma said the expanded ownership will enable wider accessibility of the therapy to a large population of men across Asia who are affected by these conditions.

The company will also continue to promote and distribute Cialis in the markets where it now holds full ownership, leveraging its regional commercial capabilities and healthcare distribution network.

According to John Graham, the acquisition builds on the company’s earlier expansion strategy and demonstrates its ability to scale established healthcare brands through its commercial expertise and regional presence.

The move also aligns with Zuellig Pharma’s broader strategy of strengthening its portfolio of owned prescription healthcare products while enhancing its role as an integrated healthcare solutions provider in Asia.

Headquartered in the region, Zuellig Pharma offers a range of services including pharmaceutical distribution, commercialisation and clinical trial support, aimed at improving access to healthcare solutions across Asian markets.
