Zydus Lifesciences has reported a strong financial performance for the first quarter of FY27, with revenue from operations rising 22 percent year-on-year to INR 80.17 billion, supported by broad-based growth across its formulations and API businesses. The company reported a net profit of INR 9.40 billion for the quarter, reflecting a solid start to the financial year.

Commenting on the results, Dr. Sharvil Patel, Managing Director, Zydus Lifesciences, said the company continues its transition into an innovation-led and patient-centric organisation. He noted that branded products now contribute more than 55 percent of total revenues, while branded sales in the US have reached 11 percent, a share expected to grow further with the planned launch of saroglitazar.

The India formulations business remained a key growth driver, reporting revenues of INR 18.16 billion, up 20 percent compared to the corresponding quarter last year. The company’s Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) business also recorded healthy momentum, with revenues increasing 15 percent year-on-year to INR 1.80 billion.

International operations delivered an even stronger performance, with the international formulations business generating INR 9.74 billion in revenue, representing a 34 percent year-on-year increase. The company attributed the growth to continued expansion across global markets and the strengthening of its branded portfolio.

Beyond its financial performance, Zydus also made significant progress on the regulatory and innovation front. The company’s injectable manufacturing facility at Zydus Biotech Park received an Establishment Inspection Report (EIR) from the US Food and Drug Administration with a Voluntary Action Indicated (VAI) classification following a GMP surveillance inspection conducted during April–May 2026.
